Dear Parents,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for raising respectful, kind and fun-loving young individuals. The retreat went so well last Thursday and Friday. The 48 hour retreat was centered on Pope Benedict's quote, "The world offers you comfort, but you were not made for comfort you were made for GREATNESS!" The kids worked individually, in small groups and in a large group for their activities. The individual and small groups were done with "teams" led by a camp counselor and one of our chaperones. The large group experiences were with the whole 7th grade. It was such a fantastic experience! We are hoping that this will become a yearly tradition. THANK YOUs go out to Michelle Stram, Kristine Jaeger, Diane Neal, Beth Jennissen and Jessica Murphy who chaperoned the trip. The food was spectacular as was the housing we had!
It is a very short week! The kids are working hard on their cell reproduction (Mitosis) project. The project is due Tuesday, November 3rd at the beginning of class. Their self assessments are also due that day at the beginning of class.
Be sure to come and visit with me at conferences. I will be in the gym from 1-8 on Wednesday and 9-5 on Thursday. I look forward to catching up and talking about ways your child can continue to achieve "GREATNESS".
Costumes may be worn to school on Monday. They MAY NOT get dressed or use any type of hair product once he/she has arrived to school. We will have a costume judging assembly around 1:45 in the gym after our costume parade.
Tuesday, we have a living rosary planned for 9:00 in the church. Mrs. Brochtrup and Mrs. Boerke planned this event. We look forward to "walking" through the rosary with the school. Wednesday we get out of school at 11:30. Uniforms are still the attire of the day. We have church at 8:45, per normal schedule.
I hope all is well!
Take care and many blessings,
Kim

Dear Parents,
We really only have classes Monday through Wednesday this week. Should be a pretty easy week to move through...
The 7th graders are currently working on their cell reproduction PERFORMANCE projects. They've broken into groups. I am excited to see how they turn out! The projects are due on November 3rd at the beginning of class.
Science articles are due on Tuesday for the 7th graders. If you are curious how many more articles your child must complete feel free to contact me or take a look at mystudentsprogress, as I updated that Sunday.
We leave on Thursday morning for a retreat at Camp Gray. We will be there over night and come home on Friday before the end of the school day. About the only piece of information I know is they are not to bring electronics and they will need a sleeping bag and pillow.
Friday is the end of the quarter! Can't believe the 1st quarter is over already!
Saturday is the annual Halloween party in the gym. The kids always look forward to this evening! I hope you have a great time!
Many blessings,
Kim

Dear Parents,
What a crazy football weekend! The Badgers and Oklahoma State sure waited until the last minute to win their respective games! It was a beautiful day for the Packers to play today!
We will be testing Monday morning from 8:20-10:30 and again Tuesday morning from 8:20-9:00. Please encourage your child to finish strong! Testing seems to be going well thus far.
Mr. Scott Theis' (our head building maintenance man) last day at St. Dennis is Thursday. He is leaving to work on the farm with his dad and uncle. We will miss him a lot! We wish him well and are so grateful for his 9 years here at St. Dennis.
Picture re-take is on Thursday of this week.
UPCOMING INFO:
*7 news articles due next Tuesday. I updated the mystudentsprogress grades for each student. If you log on you can check to see how many more articles your child owes before next Tuesday.
*Due to the overnight trip to Camp Gray is next Thursday and Friday, our end of the quarter is Wednesday next week. Be sure your child is caught up on all missing work.
Have a great week!
Many blessings,
Kim

Dear Parents,
I hope you've stayed warm on this weather-changing weekend! :)
This week is really busy! Below you will find the testing schedule AND any other activities going on. Please read it thoroughly. If at all possible, please have your child at school, rested and fed well. Students are allowed to bring a healthy snack for themselves each day; there will be an opportunity to eat it during a break each morning of tests.
Monday: 8:20-10:30 TESTING: (1 math and vocabulary); regular math, SS and reading classes
Tuesday: 8:20-9:50 TESTING: (1 math and spelling and capitalization); regular math and electives classes (Happy St. Dennis Feast Day)
Wednesday: NO TESTING: church at 8:45; reading from 9:30-10:00; NED yo-yo assembly at 10:00; regular math and study hall; middle school students meet with Edgewood students from 1:30-2:00
Thursday: 8:20-10:30 TESTING: (1 reading, written expression and computation); regular math and electives classes
Friday: NO TESTING: classes remain on the normal schedule
NEXT WEEK WE WILL TEST MONDAY AND TUESDAY MORNINGS.
We only have 2 1/2 weeks left of this quarter. If your child has not started their science articles, it would be a smart idea to get those going.
